First step is to loosen the top bolts of the shock absorber mounts. This is the offside inside the boot (trunk for American friends). Problem is first I have to remove the black cover which is secured by 3 screws and hidden behind the fuel filler neck - just great! Don't like the rust evident there much either, I'll sort that out in due course - at least it's not structural (or even visible unless you are in my boot!).
