Mudflap weekend
I have now got all 4 mudflaps on - hurrah!
Actually removing the old ones, measuring up and fitting the new ones took a good couple of hours all together. It's important they are fitted correctly as the MSA Blue Book stipulates how far above the road surface they must be (no more than 8cm) and that they are 4cm either side of the tyre tread.
I'll get a picture tomorrow as by the time I had finished it was dark!
I reckon the car certainly looks the part just like every time I fit something required by the authorities.
In addition I have adjusted the driver's harness straps. I really liked the shoulder straps pulled tight on the Roskirk and, in fact, I couldn't get them tight enough for my liking.
This was because the buckle was pulled up as the shoulder straps were tightened and I ran out of room for adjustment. The solution is for the straps between my legs to be shortened so that the buckle can't pull up so high.
Apart from the fact that I am sure no-one wanted to mess about between my legs (!) they couldn't be adjusted on the rally, they can't really be adjusted in situ anyway. So today I took them out the car and shotrtened them by about an inch - that should be better.

Now that's a mudflap!
Not too easily seen here unfortunately but as the scrutineers want biger mudflaps that is what they will get!
I need to get some self tappers though before I can attach them properly - the originals were held on with nuts and bolts which would be sort of OK but it's impossible to get to the back of these mudflaps to get the nuts on.
Good colour for them though - matches the blue on the car really well.

Deana's TR7
As it's a nice day I thought I would take the cover off "Deana's TR7" and give it a wash.
Then, feeling adventurous I took the top down - the first time I have ever done this with a car!
It looks OK in the photo but I must be doing something wrong as I just couldn't get the hood cover on - if this is the state of play then a FHC is definitely the better car!
I know that dropping the hood though is easy enough so I'll get some coaching from a man who knows I reckon.
Maybe next month I'll get a battery for it, get it running and then get it booked in for an MOT - topless motoring this summer perhaps

Group 4 Brakes upgrade
The next step will be to have the mounting lugs drilled and fit the calipers to the car.
Then it's just a simple matter of plumbing them in and mounting up the relevant brake discs - a breeze eh!
Once that is done I can get the next bit of paperwork - the Historic Vehicle Identity Form which means I will be able to enter pukka Historic Rallies.
