Harnesses ordered

Yes, the next step is taken - I have ordered two six pointFIA approved harnesses for the TR.

Toledo passes MOT!

Yes, it was a shock as I expected it to fail. The only question in my mind was by how much the car would fail as I hadn't found the time to put much into it.

I'll still have to resolve the exhaust issue and I would like to give it another service plus there's an "advisory" regarding a dust cover missing but all in all the little car has done me proud.

So much so that I will give it a reprieve - I had decided to sell it as I can't afford to keep 2 cars running on my hobby budget but the little car deserves better so unless someone I trust to take proper care of it wants to buy it, GLF is staying with me.

Another amazing thing happed as well, my wife drove it to the MOT station (and back!) and didn't complain too much - apart from the brakes being very different to a modern car.

More rallying - this time spectating

Wentout to Gisburn this morning to watch a couple of the tests on the Ilkley Jubilee Rally.

This is part of the NESCRO series, for which I am the championship co-ordinator, but also had a few triumphs in. These included Club Triumph member Neil Dowie in his GT6. Here's a video I took including an interview with Neil.

Thanks to Martin KNapp I got the chance to be at the SMC Stages. As it happened Martin did need some assistance!

Roll cage ordered

Yes, another step taken - the roll cage is ordered.

8 weeks delivery and then we have to fit it. There will also be door bars and a harness bar so a pair of competition harnesses will also be ordered.

When they are in (mid-June?) BRP really will look the part.

Oh, then I'll also get a plumbed in extinguisher, fit it and the car will pretty much be up to spec

Toledo, then TR7

I brought the Toledo round under the carport and re-attached the exhaust - yes, the same one that fell off 6 times on our European roadtrip last year! An exhaust strap has split though so I will try and get a replacement this afternoon.


Then over to BRP and re-fitted the driver's competition seat. Worth doing as the next big job is the rollcage and I will want to see how it clears the seat etc.

But then I decided to check out a "weep" I had noticed from the top hose.

OK - so I just felt the hose at the radiator to see whether the top hose clip wasn't tightening and yes it felt loose.

But then the whole pipe into the radiator came out!

Call me a thickie but I don't think that's supposed to happen!
